About myStockTickers.com

MST is a free stock research organizer: keep a watchlist, save personal notes, and open the research websites you prefer.

I’m a retired computer programmer who built the first version more than 20 years ago. I was never a day trader, but I liked keeping a close eye on the dozen or so stocks I owned. I wanted one convenient browser tab for my stocks, frequently visited websites, and everyday reminders such as buying dog food for our three dogs.

That little personal project evolved over the years. Recently, with help from ChatGPT and Codex, I gave it a fresh look for both desktop and mobile. It has served me well, and I hope you enjoy it too.

myStockTickers.com operates from Largo, Pinellas County, Florida, United States. This version has no accounts, advertising, affiliate links, or app analytics. Your watchlist and notes are saved in your browser, with no automatic cloud sync.

MST is independent of the research providers linked here. Their names identify destinations, not partnerships or endorsements. MST does not provide brokerage services or investment advice.

Using MST

  1. Research a ticker: enter a ticker and press its research button or Enter. The destination opens in a new tab. Choose Add TICKER to find its U.S. listing and add its quote automatically. If several listings match, choose the company you meant. Use Find quote for older rows without a quote. Existing tickers are not duplicated.
  2. Choose your providers: use Edit beside a research button. Select a suggestion or type a short provider name and URL. Buttons always show Chart via:, mBoard via:, or Comp Info via: before the provider name. Use the exact token {TICKER} wherever the ticker belongs. Save applies the URL to that button and its tracked-ticker column. Cancel or Escape discards edits.
  3. Save notes: click a tracked ticker’s note field to open a larger, multiline editor, or focus the field and press Enter or Space. Done or Escape closes the editor. General and ticker notes save automatically after typing and when you leave the field. Check the save status. If saving fails, keep the tab open and export a backup.
  4. Manage your list: The trash icon asks for confirmation before removing a ticker and its notes. Removing a ticker also removes its notes; adding it again starts with an empty note. Re-order Tickers reveals up/down controls.
  5. Keep favorite links: Edit Links manages up to ten shortcuts. Leave both fields empty to hide a row.
  6. Back up or move devices: Export Backup downloads a JSON file containing your current notes, tickers, and settings. Import Backup previews that file before you confirm replacement. Keep backups private: they are not encrypted.

Where your work lives

Choose a Backup Reminder interval of 7, 14, 21, or 28 days beside Import Backup. A reminder appears on this page when that interval has passed since your last export request. Until your first export, it counts from when the reminder was first set up in this browser. Exporting restarts the timer; check your downloads to confirm the file was saved. Reminders appear only while you use MST, and the interval is saved in this browser.

Data belongs to this browser profile and website address. It does not automatically follow you to another browser, device, or domain. Export a backup to keep a copy or transfer your setup, including before moving from scscode.com or a local file to myStockTickers.com. Importing replaces the destination browser’s current setup; it does not keep devices in sync.

MST saves your setup and whether you have seen the welcome message in local storage. The app does not use cookies. Removing only cookies or cached images and files leaves local storage intact. However, browsers often group cookies together with other site data: choosing a combined option such as “cookies and site data” can also delete local storage. Check which data your browser will remove.

Deleting this website’s local storage removes your saved setup, and browsers may also remove it during storage cleanup. MST cannot recover erased data, so keep a backup of work you want to retain.

In a private or incognito window, your setup generally lasts only until the private browsing session ends. Use a normal browser window to keep your setup between visits.

Use one editing tab at a time. If another tab changes your saved data, MST pauses saving to avoid overwriting it. Export any work you need from this tab, then reload.

Research link limitations

Providers use different ticker formats and may require an exchange, subscription, or sign-in. Some suggestions assume US or NASDAQ listings. Verify the company on the destination page. Simply Wall St opens its US stock directory. Links can change; edit their URLs when needed. Tickers can contain letters, numbers, dots, and hyphens, up to ten characters.

Delete your data

Remove individual tickers or erase note text to save those changes. To remove all saved MST data, use your browser’s site-data settings for this website. On a shared domain this may also remove other apps’ data. Delete downloaded backups separately. MST cannot recover browser data you have erased.

Watchlists, notes, and preferences

MST stores your tickers, notes, quick links, and research settings in your browser’s local storage to provide the saving features you request. The app does not upload your notes, full backup, or preferences. Automatic ticker lookup sends the requested ticker to our server, where it may appear in hosting logs. They remain until you change or delete them, or your browser removes them. There is no account or automatic cloud sync. Other people with access to your browser profile may be able to see them.

Export creates an unencrypted file on your device. Import reads the file you select locally in your browser; the app does not upload it. You control copies you save or share. Avoid entering passwords, account numbers, or other sensitive information in notes.

Website delivery and support

Our hosting provider is hosting.com. When you visit the hosted website, its infrastructure receives technical request information, such as your IP address, requested address, and browser information, to deliver the page. Hosting and security systems may keep access or error logs for operation, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. This is separate from your locally saved watchlist and notes.

Log settings and retention depend on the hosting service configuration. Contact us for details about the live service. The provider describes its own practices in its privacy policy.

If you use the contact form or email support, the name, email address, message, and any email attachments you provide are processed through email services so we can respond. We retain support correspondence as needed to handle the request, follow-up, and applicable legal obligations. Do not send your full backup unless you intend to share its contents.

Quotes and ticker lookup

Automatic lookup uses a cached public U.S. listing directory from Nasdaq Trader. The server downloads the directory without sending your individual search to Nasdaq. TradingView quote widgets connect to TradingView when displayed, sharing the displayed identifier and technical connection information, including your IP address. Their data availability and policies apply.

Tracking and external links

This version of the MST app sets no cookies and includes no advertising, affiliate links, or analytics scripts. Its local storage supports your saved work. We do not sell your saved watchlist or notes or use them for targeted advertising.

Opening a research link sends the ticker in the destination URL to that provider. External sites may collect information and use cookies under their own policies. Custom links open the addresses you choose.

Your choices and changes

You can inspect, edit, export, or delete locally saved work as described in Help. We cannot retrieve or erase storage on your device remotely. Contact us about support correspondence or hosting-related information; depending on applicable law, you may have access, correction, deletion, objection, or other privacy rights. We will assess requests under the laws that apply.

MST is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Please contact us if a child has sent personal information to support. We will update this notice if the service’s information practices change.

myStockTickers.com provides a free personal research organizer from Largo, Pinellas County, Florida. You may use it to organize tickers, links, and notes for lawful purposes. Do not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, or attempt unauthorized access to its hosting systems.

No investment advice

MST does not recommend securities, assess suitability, execute trades, or provide personalized investment, legal, or tax advice. A listed provider or saved ticker is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold an investment. Make your own decisions and seek qualified professional advice when appropriate.

Third-party websites

Research links lead to independent websites whose content, availability, ticker mappings, pricing, and terms may change. Verify the company and information at the destination. MST does not guarantee their accuracy or endorse their content. Provider names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Your saved work

You retain your rights in the notes you create. Browser storage is not a guaranteed backup. You are responsible for exporting copies you need and checking import files before replacing data. We cannot restore erased browser data or backups you have lost.

Availability and limitations

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranties about uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or the accuracy of third-party information. To that same extent, we disclaim liability for losses arising from reliance on external information, interruptions, or loss of locally stored data. Nothing here excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
